The Retreat was designed for the cat that needs complete privacy, and the owner who needs the litter station to disappear when company arrives.
The folding mechanism makes that possible. At 14.5cm flat, the Retreat stores in a hallway cupboard, behind a wardrobe door, or in the back of a car without compromise. When needed, it unfolds in seconds and stands stable. When it isn't, it does not exist in the room.
In use, the high-walled hood provides total enclosure — the kind cats seek instinctively for this most private of activities. The integrated deodoriser works from within the hood continuously, rather than simply containing the odour inside a sealed space. The sand-grate pedal at the front door catches loose litter from paws as cats exit, keeping the floor around the station as clean as the room it's placed in.
The scoop is mounted on the exterior of the hood. It does not migrate across the room, disappear into a drawer, or require a separate caddy.
